Volleyball Strength & Conditioning
Volleyball players are constantly striving to increase their vertical jumps. HIT Center Austin's Volleyball Strength & Conditioning program goes beyond typical vertical jump training, focusing also on full body strength, speed, agility, reactions, and proper movement patterns. The groups are capped at a 6:1 athlete-to-coach ratio to ensure quality instruction, technique, and safety. This complete program addresses the needs for every volleyball player to achieve their maximum potential on the court, concentrating on specific demands of the sport to include:
Injury prevention of the shoulders (rotator cuff) and knees (ACL)
Weight training for a strong and balanced athlete
Explosive training to increase block/approach jumping power
Speed and agility work for enhancing court quickness and reactive time
Learning correct body mechanics for increasing jumping potential
Learning proper lifting technique for maximum strength gains
Specific attention to landing from jumping (eccentric loading of muscles)

The Youth Volleyball program runs in the spring semester on Tue/Thu from 6-7:30 pm, until June 1, 2017. The summer-only program runs M/W/F from 9-10:30 am, June 5-August 4, 2017. There will be no workouts the week of July 4th. Additional sessions might be scheduled through August, depending on the timing of club tryouts and the number of players requesting to enroll. The summer program has sold out for two consecutive years, so please contact us soon for more details and to reserve your spot!
